The Voyager is without a doubt one of the finest analogue mono synths ever made.
Its tone is generally a little softer and deeper than the vintage mini but we believe many people don’t utilize it to its fullest potential. For example, the Voyager has a very unique and often overlooked feature in that it has an insert point between the mixer and the filter. You could insert all kinds of crazy things in there. Plus, the extensive routing and modulation capabilities make it a truly flexible and wonderful synth.
For this pack, we’ve kept it straightforward and patched in an api or tube line amp driving the filter a little harder for some tasty ladder filter saturation. Going further, we recorded the Voyager through some hi-end outboard gear such as a passive Jensen DI, Capi VP28 preamps, Api and Spl equalizers, the Manley Variable Mu Compressor and the Culture Vulture Tube Saturator.
Resulting in a warm tone, big and tight bass response and, depending on the patch, various degrees of tube saturation, it sits nicely in the mix.
While this pack has a big focus on bass sounds, we’ve sampled the whole usable range of the instrument so you’ll find its useful for all kinds of Classic Synth Sounds, experimental patches, and more.
